With the increasing competition in the global textile and apparel industry and with the binding provisions of international regulations imposed by local market, several textile and apparel manufacturers worldwide are focussing on trade shows to expand their trade boundaries, to introduce new products and to build new business relations.

According to the representatives of textile and apparel industry, trade shows and international exhibitions play a vital role in boosting the growth of the sector.

In an interview with fibre2fashion, Mr. Zerif Kircicek, general manager of Zares textile, a Turkey-based fabric manufacturing company, said, “We are participating in trade shows to introduce new products, to increase the company’s current market share, build new relationships and for competition monitoring.”

“The textile trade shows help in expansion of trade borders, revealing the importance of the need for branding,” he adds.

According to him, in today’s increasingly competitive environment and the binding provisions of international regulations imposed by the local market, trade shows play an important role in promoting textile business.

Recently, the Department of African, West Asian and South Asian markets in the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Vietnam said in a statement that Vietnamese textile exporters should attend trade shows and international exhibitions to meet the African importers and thereby boost their exports.

Similarly, Manuel YTO, president of the Peruvian Association of Industrial Tailoring, said internatioanl trade shows would be an opportunity for companies to showcase their products and establish contacts for exporting large quantities of clothing.

Around 30 entrepreneurs from Peru’s Gamarra garment industry will be participating in the Expo Amazon 2013, which will be held in Brazil from August 10-13, 2013.

Some of the recently ended trade shows, such as Colombiamoda 2013 and Fenafashion 2013, attracted a large number of international buyers from different countries.
